A welcoming contemporary Community Church has been built on the Foxhill Estate in Combe Down, Bath. The Church provides much needed local facilities following extensive community involvement in the formulation of the brief. Accommodation includes a large hall, meeting rooms, a central foyer with a drop in café, and support spaces. The building is defined by the curved roof profile with external walls of reconstituted stone, render and timber cladding. A south facing rear garden provides a quiet, secure outside space for local residents, young and old.

The well insulated envelope minimises the heating requirement. Hetreed Ross Architects worked with Ken Biggs Contractors under a Design Build Contract completed in autumn 2011.

The project won the 2012 Bath and North East Somerset Building Quality Award for a Public or Commercial Building and was short listed for the 2013 West of England LABC Building Excellence Best Community Building Award.
