Bath City Farm Café was formally opened this week with a celebratory ribbon cutting and lunch. Bath City farm works to provide education, environmental conservation and support to people facing adversity. In addition it is a wonderful farm which many families and local residents visit every week. Having outgrown their current café facilities, Bath City farm launched a competition to design a new café. Hetreed Ross Architects won the competition in 2017 and have been working closely with the farm since then. Initially we analysed and advised the farm on potential sites for the café taking into account views from and to Bath as well as the farm itself. Following the selection of a site we developed a design which takes inspiration from the farm setting but reimagined as a contemporary space.  Hetreed Ross Architects then oversaw the construction of the café on site under Ken Biggs Contractors which was completed summer 2022.

We have enjoyed working with the charity to realise this exciting next stage of their development. We are sure the completed café will become a much used and loved hub for the local Bath communities and a valuable resource for the farm.
