Nick Brindley
BA (Hons) Dip Arch
Architectural Designer
A vital member of the Hetreed Ross team, Nick uses his extensive experience to develop a sensitive and holistic approach to design with a focus on sustainable architecture that recognises the importance of tackling the climate emergency; the re-use of buildings is an integral part of this and whilst they can vary widely in character, he understands they all have stories to tell in terms of historical, social and economic context. These experiences continue to shape his interest in craftsmanship, detailing, and materiality; through the careful consideration of texture, light and scale, spaces are allowed to evolve rather than be forced upon through over-design.
Nick graduated from the University of Manchester with a first-class honours degree that he followed up with a distinction for his Diploma at the University of Sheffield.
He went on to work on projects across a wide variety of scales; including the rebuilding of Manchester City Centre (following the 1996 terrorist attack) and numerous refurbishment projects in the city’s Northern Quarter. Nick moved to Bath in 1999 and joined FCB Studios where he was an associate working on a number of major award-winning projects across a broad range of sectors such as Arts, Residential, Specialist Care and Higher Education projects.
